Basket Weaving Class - Nationally acclaimed fiber artist, Linda Sura will teach the basic techniques to weave a reed basket as shown to the left. Linda is also a water color artist. She combines both painting and weaving to create fabulous baskets and wall pieces. Linda has been part of the Copper Shade Tree artist family for 1-1/2 years.

Summertime in Round Top - There are a million things to do in Round Top during the summer. Bybee Square and all the galleries are in full bloom, Festival Hill Music Institute is in full swing, Winedale Shakespeare Festival is about to kick-off, the B&B's are waiting for you to come and relax, and of course the food here is superb. When you get to Round Top make Copper Shade Tree your first stop.

Outstanding Accomplishments

Craft Texas 2008 ...We are excited to announce that five of our artists were selected to Craft Texas 2008, the fifth in a series of juried exhibitions showcasing the best in Texas-made contemporary craft. Congratulations to paper-cutting artist Catherine Rayroud Winkler, wood artists Bill Tillson and Tom Irven, and glass artists Dick Moiel and Kathy Poeppel. We are proud of you!!! Ralph Moresco ...lives in Buchanan Dam, Texas where he fabricates fantastic wind spirals. Ralph has been part of our gallery for a while. However, due to popular demand, his work has made it to our website. Take time to visit his work!

V Chin ...is the new addition to the gallery. Vorakit Chinookoswong, known widely as V. Chin, has been crafting fine porcelain and stoneware pieces for over 30 years. A veteran of art festivals and gallery shows throughout Texas, Chin creates glossy stoneware vases, bowls, cups, and other pieces bearing his signature clay frog.
Tony and Gretchen Schartz ...are the new additions to the gallery. Their decorative plates, bowls and vessels are quite different in all aspects of clay work. Their original designs incorporate raku glazes that have taken them to a new level. Gretchen throws the pieces while Tony applies the glazes. Tony also fabricates the steel stand that compliment the fabulous plates.
