West Texas Christmas Eve This is the artist's interpretation of American Landscape. It is a memory of hers from 1972, when traveling to New Mexico during a church trip. To recreate her memory, she drew an original paper pieced pattern for the windmill, tree, and house blocks. They are set into a black night of fabric. The only colors present, are the Christmas lights on the various structures. She outline quilted the various components with black thread and added a string of lights windmills fading into the distance.
