Martha K. Grant comes to the making of studio art quilts through years of individually satisfying creative expressions: surface design, collage, calligraphy, painting, poetry and stitchery. Coming together in this genre, these give her an adequate visual vocabulary to say her soul s journey, life s journey. She has also had a long fascination with the power of language and the beauty of text as texture and design element. Many of her creations lend themselves to the introduction " subtle or otherwise " of some bit of text that has a profound and personal meaning for her.

Steve Hunsicker and his family live in Bulverde, Texas. His unique artwork is inspired from many styles and cultures. The centerpiece is carved wood finished with a number of different mediums. Steve usually uses acrylic paint, stains, powdered metals, coral, nails, stone, wire and other materials. Acids are combined with the powdered metals to create various finishes. Often the centerpiece is mounted in a shadow box or on a three dimensional display.
